hari ini tanggal 6/12/2009, saya membaca koran jawa pos, saya sangat tertarik dengan ide dari mbak Rieke Dyah Pitaloka anggota komisi IX RI untuk membuat sebuah undang-undang tentang PRT yang disamakan dengan pekerja, dengan demikian Pembantu Rumah Tangga akan lebih sejahtera dan lebih terjamin kehidupannya.
tenaga kerja wanita indonesia yang dipekerjakan jadi pembantu rumah tangga di hongkong saja bisa dibuatkan peraturan tentang kesejahteraannya. yaitu diberikan jaminan kesehatan, masa pensiun atau pesangon, diberi libur.

hal ini sangat berbanding terbalik dengan kondisi pekerja yang jadi pembantu di Indonesia Raya ini, kita sama-sama warga negara, sama-sama bangsa Indonesia masak tega dengan bangsa sendiri. apakah pembantu bisa dipekerjakan dengan seenaknya?

saya pernah bertemu dengan seorang pensiunan TNI AD, dia mengatakan kalau saudaranya ada yang dipekerjakan di Surabaya sebagai pembantu rumah tangga, katanya dalam setahun saudaranya itu hanya boleh pulang waktu hari raya saja, bahkan saat kematian saudara kandungnya saja dia dilarang pulang oleh pembantunya, akses telephone dibatasi dikabarkan akses kerumah majikannya juga sulit. hal ini tentu saja sangat memprihatinkan... dan pensiunan tersebut mengatakan kalau saudaranya itu sama dengan bekerja saat zaman jepang.

menurut beliau (oneng), memang sulit untuk mewujudkan impiannya tersebut, mungkin hal ini dipengaruhi oleh sifat egois dari orang-orang kaya yang kebanyakan juga pejabat... kalau diterbitkan undang-undang PRT yang disamakan dengan tenaga kerja maka para majikan yang akan dirugikan... padahal secara sosial dan kemanusiaan hal ini sangatlah penting. coba saja dirumah anda bila tanpa pembantu? siapa yang meringankan beban pekerjaan anda... siapa yang menjaga rumah anda... siapa yang menjaga anak-anak anda saat anda bepergian...

sungguh tragis memang nasib pembantu, sudah sering dimarahi terkadang urusan makan aja dibedakan bahkan terkadang ada majikan yang semena-mena terhadap pembantu soal makanan. hal ini jelas sudah sangat tidak manusiawi...

jadi saya mohon dukungannya kepada pembaca agar impian mbak Rieke Dyah Pitaloka terwujud. kecuali anda termasuk orang yang tidak berprikemanusiaan, tidak mau bersikap adil, dan termasuk yang semena-mena maka hal itu terserah anda... namun ingatlah! bahwa Tuhan tidak akan tinggal diam akan hal ini...
